Montagne, Canada’s largest outlet, reported a record quarter in sales and profit in November, thanks to a strong winter and lower commodity prices.
The company’s chief executive, Peter Schafer, said in a statement Thursday that the company has “become more comfortable” with the Canadian economy, which is “a big reason why we have seen such strong growth” in sales.
Montagne’s profits in November rose 11.9% from a year earlier, with the majority of the increase coming from the sale of merchandise.
Sales in Canada rose 13.7% in November compared with a year ago.
Profit in the UK rose 8.9%, with the sales increase coming mostly from the acquisition of The Black Label, the company’s namesake label.
Montages and merchandise sales at other Montagne outlets rose 1.3% in the same period.
